Hi, my name is Ky, my pronouns are they/them/theirs, and I'd love to introduce myself!
I am a neurodivergent and physically disabled mother, lactation consultant, nonprofit founder, public speaker, disability activist, and educator. My work is grounded in my lived experience and a deep commitment to inclusion and access, informed by federal protections such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
I am a proud service dog and ambulatory wheelchair user, who uses my voice to challenge ableism and advocate for accessibility beyond minimum compliance.
I am a passionate poet and lover of all things that grow—from fruits and flowers to community and big ideas. My creative spirit drives my work as I help teams to reimagine accessibility and inclusion through a disability lens, heavily influenced by my neurodivergent way of thinking.
I work to redefine "Accessibility" by facilitating workshops that help organizations, schools, businesses, and more, identify and remove barriers to access for disabled people.
These workshops focus on attitudinal, procedural and policy barriers, supported by the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) and informed by my lived experiences (and those of other disabled folx).
Once upon a time I was introduced to a phrase: "Disabled people should be expected, not just accepted."
I, like so many other disabled people, have spent many years of my life teaching others how to make space for me. But I realize that not all disabled people want to or can be self-advocates. Combining my passion for teaching and my expertise in disability justice, accessibility & inclusion, I found a place in this world advocating for and with my community.
